  1.         A brief introduction to Scanfx 
  2.  
  3.   There are four parts in Scanfx :1. LCD 
  4.                 2. Control Keys
  5.  
  6.   1.  LCD part is consisted of two rows of LCD and each one of them shows different
  7.       information.
  8.      -(1) The upper row shows paper size, scan mode, fax resolution and brightness.
  9.          -Paper size:
  10.                  LTR -- letter size.
  11.                     LGL -- Legal size.
  12.                     A4  -- A4 size.
  13.  
  14.         -Scan mode:
  15.                  TXT -- Text mode.(LineArt)
  16.                  PHT -- Photogragh.(GrayScale)
  17.                  CPH -- Color photograph.(True Color)
  18.  
  19.         -Fax resolution:
  20.                              DFT -- Draft (200X100) mode.
  21.                              FNE -- Fine  (200X200) mode.

  23.         -Brightness: 0-100

  25.      -(2) The lower row shows either key alias or fax number.

  27.                 - Key alias:
  28.                 There are fourteen keys on control panel of Scanfx. Each 
  29.                             one of them can be short cut of fax recepient group.

  31.                 - Fax number: Telephone number.

  33.   2. Control keys :
  34.  
  35.          -(1) Extra key :
  36.               Set the size of paper. Each time Extra key is pushed, the 
  37.               LCD will show the size of paper, and the setting sequence 
  38.               is LTR, LGL and A4.
  39.  
  40.          -(2) Mode key :
  41.               Set scan mode. Each time mode key is pushed, the LCD will
  42.               show the scan mode, and the setting sequence is TXT, PHT 
  43.               and CPH.

  45.      -(3) Resolution key :
  46.               Set the fax resolution. Each time Resolution key is pushed
  47.                           LCD will show the fax resolution, and the setting sequence 
  48.               is DFT, FNE.

  50.          -(4) * KEY :     Each time * key is pushed, the Brightness is less 5.

  52.          -(5) # key :     Operate contrariwise as * key.
  53.  
  54.      -(6) 0-9 keys :  Let You key in the telephone number.

  56.          -(7) Speed dial keys :
  57.               You can set recepient group to each one of the 01-14 keys
  58.               in ScanFX Keypad program. Each key of these fourteen keys 
  59.               can be assigned an alias name also in ScanFX keypad program.
  60.               When one key is pushed, its alias name is shown on LCD.

  62.          -(8) Copy/Print key:
  63.               Scan an image and printer prints out the scanned image.
  64.                           You can assign the printer in ScanFX keypad program.

  66.          -(9) Stop/Eject key : Eject paper.
  67.  
  68.          -(10) Fax key :  Scan an image and faxing the scanned image to recepient.
  69.               The recepient is assigned according to which key of Speed
  70.               dial keys.

  72.         A Brief Introduction to Installation of Profile
  73.  
  74.     In the process of installation of ScanFX, if you choose create new profile in 
  75.   Install Profile dialog, the install program will lanch three MicroSoft Exchange 
  76.   wizards -- MicroSoft Fax wizard, Personal Address Book wizard and Personal Folder
  77.   wizard.

  79.   (1) MicroSoft Fax wizard :
  80.      You have to input your name, fax number, a modem for the fax service.
  81.   
  82.   (2) MicroSoft Personal Address Book wizard :
  83.      If there is a MicroSoft Personal Address Book in your system,
  84.          you may assign an existed address data file(.pab file), otherwise, you 
  85.      have to assign a name for wizard to create a new personal address book
  86.      file(.pab file).

  88.   (3) MicroSoft Personal Folder :
  89.      The place stores the information of inbox, outbox, send item and delete
  90.      item. If there is already a MicroSoft Personal Folder in your System,
  91.      you may assign an existed personal folder file(.pst file), otherwise,
  92.      you have to assign a name for wizard to create a new personal folder.

  94.   Note: In the process of (1) or (3), if you push the cancel button, you can't 
  95.     do fax in this new profile, else if in the process of (2), you can do 
  96.     fax but can't apply personal address book. If you push the cancel button,
  97.     and then you want to add the service again or add MicroSoft mail or 
  98.     internet mail, please go to "Mail & Fax" in the control panel to add the 
  99.     services that you want.
